MOSCOW, December 11. /ITAR-TASS/. The All-Russian Public Movement ‘Mothers of Russia’ has sent a delegation of 10 people to the US to conduct a public investigation of violations of the rights of adopted Russian children and to support compatriots that suffered violence in the foreign territory. As the movement’s leader Olga Panina, which is also the secretary of United Russia party’s social platform, told ITAR -TASS, “the community’s representatives will find out how Russian and foreign authorities track the path of adopted children from Russia and the CIS”.

Panina said that the upcoming tour and the mechanism of the movement’s public inquiry in the US have already been discussed with Russian children's ombudsman Pavel Astakhov. “It is expected that the investigation will be connected to the representatives of the movement in the United States, including the not registered subsidiary of Mothers of Russia, working on a voluntary basis, consisting of people from our country who work and study in America,” Olga Panina explained.

“They are ready to support us. We intend to settle in this subsidiary’s headquarters and together with the children’s ombudsman or his representative to carry out an inquiry into all available data on children adopted by US citizens,” the civic movement’s head said. “We will visit the residential addresses of the children, communicate with their parents, neighbors, find out how they live, where do they study and how do they feel,” Olga Panina went on saying.

In case violations are found, the social activists intend to appeal to Russia’s Investigative Committee. “We’ll write an application, expose all necessary facts and propose some options to solve this issue. We will compose the act and hand it to the government and all investigative bodies,” she stressed. Panina doesn’t rule out that the social activists “might discover cases of silencing such situations, since in official documents and reports there are mentioned situations that can be investigated at the local level.”

The activists’ plans found broad support in parental community, as well as among business people. Panina added that the latter are ready to pay the trip’s expenses and “provide assistance in delivering humanitarian aid: we plan to bring toys and presents for the children, to remind them of motherland.”
