MOSCOW, December 05, 13:30 /ITAR-TASS/. Head of Moscow's Helsinki Group of human rights activists Lyudmila Alexeyeva said she would attend a meeting between campaigners and Russian President Vladimir Putin in mid-December.

"I was invited to participate by telephone and I'll certainly go," Alexeyeva told Itar-Tass on Thursday. "Rights activists have to talk to the authorities even though it's the most difficult part of our work."

"I was told the format of the meeting envisions short remarks," she said, adding that she would raise the issue of the fate of the Bolotnaya riot case participants, referring to members of the May 6 protest march in Moscow who have been accused of using violence against police.

"If there is no time to address all issues, I'll submit some of them to the president in written form," she added. "The president and the prime minister have always answered my letters.
