Putin said it was necessary to make transport park modern and safe

MOSCOW, December 05. /ITAR-TASS/. The key task of Russia’s transport is to renovate its infrastructure, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.

“Russia’s transport should renovate its infrastructure, motorways and railways, air service, seacraft and river transport,” Putin said in an address to participants and organizers of the 7th international exhibition Transport of Russia.

Presidential chief of staff Sergei Ivanov read out the president’s address.

Putin said it was necessary to make transport park modern and safe, to use mechanisms of state and private partnership and attract more investments in the transport sector.

Ivanov said one of the priorities was to increase competitiveness of the domestic transport system and lift infrastructural restrictions for the economic growth.

“They (restrictions) are rather big,” the Kremlin top official added.
