MOSCOW, December 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Heavy smoke has enveloped the tunnel between the metro stations Tulskaya and Serpukhovskaya of the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya grey line of the Moscow metro, Itar-Tass reported from the accident site on Wednesday.

A short circuit triggered heavy smoke in the tunnel between metro stations Tulskaya and Serpukhovskaya of the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya grey metro line, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations main department in Moscow told Itar-Tass.

“The short circuit triggered a fire and a smoke. The fire was put out before the arrival of firemen,” the press service reported.

This accident did not affect the metro train traffic. “The trains are running according the schedule,” the press service explained.

The smoke has also appeared right at the platform of the metro station Serpukhovskaya. People are not evacuated yet.

A similar incident has occurred on the metro grey line on August 9, 2013 in the tunnel between the metro stations Tsvetnoy Bulvar and Mendeleyevskaya. The smoke has appeared due to the malfunction in the operation of the pair of brakes of the metro train. The metro train traffic was disrupted for 20 minutes. No one was injured, the passengers were not evacuated.
