Culprits in attack case on Bolshoi Theatre artistic director convicted

MOSCOW, December 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The Meshchansky district court in Moscow has found guilty Yuri Zarutsky and Andrei Lipatov of the attack on Artistic Director of Ballet of the Bolshoi Theatre Sergei Filin on Tuesday.

Perpetrator of the acid splashing on Filin Zarutsky was sentenced to 10 years in high security prison over particularly dangerous nature of his illegal actions. Driver Lipatov, who had brought Zarutsky to the crime scene, was sentenced to four years in high security prison.

Principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theater Dmitrichenko was sentenced to six years in high security prison for the attack case on Filin.

The attack on People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Filin was delivered in the evening on January 17. The acid was splashed in his face. Filin was taken to the hospital with face and eyes burns, he underwent several surgeries in Russia and Germany, where he had taken the treatment course. According to the detectives, principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theater Pavel Dmitrichenko has masterminded the crime, his acquaintance in the countryside settlement Yuri Zarutsky was the perpetrator of the crime, Andrei Lipatov has brought Zarutsky to the crime scene.
