MOSCOW, December 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia will be covered fully by the system of ecology monitoring by 2020, minister of natural resources and ecology Sergei Donskoy told the IV environmental congress on Monday.

“Presently, a modern system of ecology monitoring, where any citizen may receive information online, works in Sochi — in the region of future Olympic Games,” he said. “The next zone where monitoring will be available is Baikal. By 2020, Russia’s all territory will be covered by the modern monitoring system.”

Before 2020, Russia will modernize over 3,000 hydrological observing stations, the minister said. Over 2010-2013 the country modernized about 2,000 meteorology and pollution control stations, 54 aero stations of high probing.

“We have been organizing new radar net, restoring the group of satellites to monitor the Earth,” the minister said.

Besides, in a few days a new Yakovlev-42D multipurpose laboratory plane will be presented in the city of Zhukovsky, the Moscow region. The plane has hardware and software complexes to monitor the atmosphere and underlying surface. The minister said the plane “in the set of tested parameters does not have analogues in the world.
