Russia-US military exercises Atlas Vision-2014 to be held in Chelyabinsk region

YEKATERINBURG, December 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian-US military exercises Atlas Vision will be held in Chelyabinsk Region, Russia’s Urals, in July 2014, the press service of the Central Military District told Itar-Tass on Monday.
“The main goal of the military exercises is to drill interoperability of the ground troops of the two countries, which participate in peacekeeping operations under the U.N. aegis,” the press service noted.
The military exercises will have two stages - command staff exercises at the level of battalions will be held at the first one, field military exercises at the level of platoons will be held at the second stage.
The military exercises Atlas Vision-2013 were held in the German city of Auerbach. On July 18-22 the officers shared the experience of training military units of the ground troops formed for peacekeeping operations and conducted several practical drills.
Meanwhile, the servicemen of the Russian Central Military District will participate in joint command staff exercises with the peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia, in 2014. The Russian-Chinese command staff military exercises of the Collective Rapid Response Forces in the Central Asian region codenamed Rubezh-2014 will be held in China in August 2014.
“In 2014 a large number of field camps of missile troops and artillery, the weapons of radiation, chemical and biological defense, reconnaissance, army signal corps and field engineering corps are planned to hold at the firing ranges in the Central Military District in 2014,” the press service reported.
