MOSCOW, November 29, 15:18 /ITAR-TASS/. Public Prosecution believes that the guilt of Bolshoi ballet soloist dancer Pavel Dmitrichenko in the February 2013 attack on the Bolshoi ballet troupe’s Artistic Director Sergei Filin has been proven.

Prosecutor Yulia Shumovskaya said Dmitrichenko’s guilt had been substantiated in the course of legal proceedings.

She asked the court to sentence Dmitrichenko to nine years in jail, saying he deserved this punishment and it was entirely proportionate to the dimension of his offense.

Prosecution also demanded that the actual perpetrator of the crime, Yuri Zarutsky, be sentenced to ten years in jail.

Shumovskaya said that the guilt of one more perpetrator, Andrei Lipatov, had been proven, too.

Zarutsky confessed his guilt earlier, saying he had used Dmitrichenko and Lipatov “for his own petty commercialistic purposes.”

Sergei Filin survived an attack with an acid, which was splashed into his face thus inflicting considerable damage to his eyesight, in mid-February 1913 when he was about to enter the doors of the multiapartment blocks in downtown Moscow where he lives. Investigators brought on charges against Dmitrichenko as the contractor of the crime.
