Duma speaker to visit Afghanistan

ST. PETERSBURG, November 28. /ITAR-TASS/. Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, who chairs the Parliamentary Assembly of member-states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), is planning to visit Afghanistan as the head of a delegation of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Naryshkin said at a meeting of the assembly held at the Tavrichesky palace in St. Petersburg on Thursday.
Naryshkin did not specify a date of the planned visit, but said that preparations for the visit were under way.
Earlier reports said that a delegation of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly might visit Afghanistan in December.
CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha pointed out that CSTO has been consistently implementing a plan of activities to rebuff challenges and threats to Afghanistan and prevent drugs trafficking.
