“We may have discrepancies on some issues, but this will not lead to the cooling of our relations,” the Russian President said

STRELNA, November 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday he saw no grounds for the cooling of Russian-Turkish relations.

“We may have discrepancies on some issues, but this will not lead to the cooling of our relations,” he told a meeting of the Russian-Turkish High-Level Cooperation Council. “On the contrary, we contact more closely and search for points of coincidence.”

“Russian-Turkish relations intensively develop in all directions,” Putin said, adding that the two countries had also regular political dialogue.

The Russian president recalled that the two countries interacted in resolving key regional and international problems within the framework of the United Nations and G20.

The Joint Group of Strategic Planning led by the Russian and Turkish prime ministers makes a big contribution to the search of common points, Putin said, highlighting the role of the joint intergovernmental commission in boosting trade and economic relations.
