MOSCOW, November 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Rome and Trieste on November 25-26 and meet Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta and President Giorgio Napolitano, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on Thursday, November 21.

Twenty-five agreements are expected to be signed, Ushakov said.

Putin will arrive in Rome on November 25 for talks with Italian counterpart Napolitano, the presidential aide said, adding that the Russian president was expected to confer with Italian ex-premier, incumbent UN Special Envoy for the Sahel.

On November 26, Putin “will arrive in Trieste for interstate consultations. This format proves its usefulness because they make it possible to determine new plans”, Ushakov said.

“A big package of documents is being prepared for signing. Among them are a plan of action between the interior ministries of both countries in fighting crime, a memorandum between the healthcare ministries, agreements between the culture ministries and the federal customs services,” the presidential aide said.

Rosneft, VEB, the Direct Investment Fund, Russian Business Network will sign agreements with Italian companies. “A Russian-Italian investment fund (one billion euro) is designed to stimulate capital flows. The Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Italian Strategic Fund are due to create it,” the Kremlin official said.

On November 26, Putin and Letta will hold talks while Russian ministers will meet their counterparts. Then interstate consultations will be held. Five documents are expected to be signed on the results of interstate consultations. Putin and Letta will take part in a forum organized by civil societies.

Among promising trends of cooperation Ushakov named energy, industry and high technology, space and humanitarian cooperation. “A program of cultural and educational exchanges in 2014-2016 is planning to be approved,” the presidential aide said.

He noted that over 200,000 Italians visited Russia annually that is why the ministers of culture were expected to make a statement on holding Year of Russian Tourism in Italy in 2014 and Year of Italian Tourism in Russia.

Among international issues, the presidential aide named cooperation between Russia and NATO, Russia and the EU, as well as the situation in Syria.
