The new invention will allow parents to track their children in real time

MOSCOW, November 7 (Itar-Tass) - Russian engineers have made a schoolbag - a GLONASS Portfolio, provided with Glonass markers to enable parents to control the whereabouts of their children.

The main purpose of the GLONASS portfolio is to ensure a child's security in the absence of parents, said Yelena Vorobyshkova -a representative of the Space Team Holding company which produced the schoolbag.

The GLONASS portfolio makes it possible to control the child's whereabouts in an on-line regime, records the child's trajectory on an electronic map, sends SMS signals to parents in case of danger or if a child falls, ensures remote monitoring of the neighborhood and immediate contact of a child with his parents by means of an emergency button.

All these functions are performed by a GLONASS "tracker" built in the schoolbag. The navigator weighing 130 grams establishes the required coordinates with a high degree of precision. The tracker has a built-in accelerator meter to detect a child's possible fall, and the "SOS" emergency button.

The producers of the GLONASS portfolio are prepared for cooperation with producers of children's commodities to ensure mass production of goods with GLONASS markers, Vorobyshkova said.
