Metro train drives dies falling out of driver’s cabin in Moscow

MOSCOW, October 20 (Itar-Tass) - A Moscow metro train drive died after he fell out of the driver’s cabin while the train was moving, a spokesman for Moscow metro police told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
According to the spokesman, the incident took place late on Saturday in the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line. “At 22:30 Moscow time, a train without the driver arrived at the Ryazansky Prospect station,” the spokesman said. “The train’s emergency brakes were applied when the internal safety system was activated. The dead body of the train driver was found in the tunnel between the Kuzminki and the Ryazansky Prospect stations.”
The man died of numerous injuries. “The police took records from a video surveillance camera in the train’s head car,” the spokesman noted. “It has been established that the driver was alone in the cabin. Most probably, he died because of the violation of safety rules when he opened the cabin’s door to look outside.”
