MOSCOW, October 14 (Itar-Tass) - More than 70 people face charges and two are being held for 48 hours after violent protests against migrant workers and crime in southern Moscow's Biryulyovo district, city police officials told Itar-Tass.

Those detained are accused of public order violation in events after the death of young man alleged to have been killed by a migrant. Nationalist activists were identified in a demonstration which, police said, led to some 400 people being detained.

Six officers from the OMON special-purpose battalion were hurt in events at the Biryuza trading centre. Five were taken to hospital, including the battalion commander, struck on the head by a bottle.
