Kazakhstan’s WTO accession talks are at final stage

"The government has been protecting maximum beneficial conditions for development of the national economy," Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov said

ASTANA, October 11 (Itar-Tass) - Kazakhstan’s talks on the country’s joining the World Trade Organization are at the final stage, the country’s Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov told a governmental meeting, where the president participated.

At the same time, the prime minister informed the meeting members that during the current year the country had continued the process of harmonizing the legal base in the framework of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space.

“The government has been protecting maximum beneficial conditions for development of the national economy,” Akhmetov said. For example, in order to support national aviation carriers, the country has extended to 2019 the duty-free import of passenger planes. Besides, the agriculture will enjoy a quota of 300 duty-free imported combine-harvesters, and the quota may be bigger.
