Medvedev, Nazarbayev to discuss coop'n in space research

ASTANA, September 25 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev will hold a bilateral meeting on Wednesday to discuss a broad spectrum of matters regarding cooperation between the two countries. Medvedev arrived here on Tuesday to attend a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC).

"During the meeting, the sides will discuss Kazakhstan-Russia cooperation in the space research sector and the Baikonur space launch center, as well as matters concerning transborder rivers and preparations for the holding of the tenth jubilee interregional cooperation forum which is to be hedl in Yekaterinburg," said Altai Abibullayev, spokesman of the central commnications servive to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"We also intend substantively to discuss a wide range ofm atters concerning trade-and-economic, political and energy cooperation between our countries," he added.

A bilateral meeting between Kazakhstani Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov and the Russian Head of Government will be held on the sidelines of the session of the top body of the Customs Union (CU) and the Common Economic Space (CES).

According to the Kazakhstani presidential press service, a meeting between the Head of State and the Prime Ministers of the CU and CES countries will be also held on Wednesday in a broader format. "Those present at the meeting will consider a wide range of matters relating to a further deepening of Eurasian economic integration, as well as implementation of the accords reached during the SEEC session held in Astana on May 29, 2013, including the preparation of a treaty ona Eurasian Economic Union," the presidential press service spokesman said.
