Miraliyev faced the accusations of threatening the victim of a crime

NEW YORK, September 21 (Itar-Tass) - A friend of Chechen native Ibragim Todashev, 27, who was shot down by an FBI agent during an interrogation over the terrorist act in the U.S. city of Boston, was arrested in the city of Orlando, Florida. The arrestee is Tajik national Ashurmamad Miraliyev, 23, who lived in one flat with Todashev, local media reported on Friday.

Miraliyev faced the accusations of threatening the victim of a crime. The police reported that the arrest of the young man is not linked with the investigation of the terrorist act in Boston or the shooting of Todashev. After Todashev’s death Miraliyev continued to live in the same flat.

Ibragim Todashev was summoned for interrogation, because he was acquainted with the brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaevs, who were found to be the masterminds of a major terrorist act during the Boston Marathon in April. According to the initial statement of the U.S. authorities, the young man attacked the detectives with a knife during the interrogation, therefore, the FBI agent allegedly had to open fire for self-defence.

However, then several media outlets reported, citing an unnamed official from the U.S. law enforcement agencies that losing self-control after many hours of interrogation Todashev had just fallen on the FBI agent, overturning the table between them. Neither a pistol nor a knife was allegedly found on the young man.
