PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, September 17 (Itar-Tass) - An earthquake measuring 6.0 struck an area in the Kamchatka bay off the peninsula's eastern coast.

Nobody was hurt. No damage was reported, and there was no tsunami threat, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry's Kamchatka regional centre said on Tuesday.

The earth tremour was recorded on Monday night. The epicentre was located in the sea, at a depth of 50 km under the seabed, 22 km off the coast, 51 km southeast of the district centre of Ust-Kamchatsky.

Earth tremours were not felt in residential areas.
