MOSCOW, August 19 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and Japan begin discussing the main starting points and modality of the upcoming talks on a peace treaty, Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov said at talks with Japanese counterpart Shinsuke Sugiyama on Monday.

“At today’s consultations we expect to have a broad exchange of opinions on important issues of bilateral relations as well as pressing international issues,” Morgulov said.

“We proceed from the fact that today we will begin discussing the main starting points and modality of the upcoming talks on a peace treaty, as the leaders of our countries agreed,” he stressed.
