POCHEP, August 9 (Itar-Tass) - The last Russian chemical disposal facility in Kizner, Udmurtia, should be built in due time - in December 2013, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said on Friday.

“We fulfil all international obligations. In December specialists of the federal department will start commissioning operations, i.e. they’ll start the real disposal of chemical weapons in Kizner,” the Russian minister said.

In compliance with the federal target program the second facility should put into operation in Kizner in 2014. Thus, Russia will enter the final stage. Kizner’s storage facilities have 2.180 million of ammunition for conventional and rocket artillery with phosphor organic poisoning substances - VX, sarin, soman and lewisite.

Other Russian facilities operate in the settlement of Gorny (Saratov Region), Kambarka (Udmurtia), Leonidovka (Penza Region), Maradykovsky (Kirov Region), Shchuchye (Kurgan Region) and Pochep (Bryansk Region).

Russia disposes of weapons of mass destruction in four stages. The first stage was over in Gorny on April 29, 2003. A total of 400 tonnes of weapons were disposed of. The second stage (8,000 of weapons) was completed till April 2007. The third stage (18,000 tonnes or 45% of all disposal program) was ended a month ago. At present, the final stage of the program is underway. Special attention is paid to the facility in Kizner.
