ECHR doesn’t consider Khodorkovsky and Lebedev Case politically motivated

The Court ruled that it can't be politically motivated as criminal proceedings are in the centre of the case

STRASBOURG, July 25. /ITAR-TASS reporter Ilya Baranov/. The European Court of Human Rights / ECHR / doesn’t consider the criminal case of former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky and ex-head of the Menatep International Financial Association Platon Lebedev politically motivated. This has been stated in a resolution released today by the Strasbourg Court.

"As criminal prosecution lies in the center of this case, the Court doesn’t consider this a violation of Article 18 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms", the resolution states.
