Russia plans to complete construction of technoparks by 2015

According to Russian Communication Minister Nikolai Nikiforov, the total area of the with total area technoparks will be 350,000 square metres

MOSCOW, July 15 (Itar-Tass) - Construction of technoparks with the total area of 350,000 square metres is expected to be complete in the country by 2015, Russian Communication Minister Nikolai Nikiforov said during Monday’s presentation of the IT development roadmap for 2013-2018.

“It is planned to complete construction and commission all technological parks, which were initiated in the format of the state program,” Nikiforov said, adding, “Their total area will make up 350,000 square metres. Their number will be at least eleven, which will make it possible to create no less than 25,000 new high-tech working places.”

In addition, the minister promised to work out a package of measures to support export of IT products and more successful entry of Russia’s IT companies to the global market. He is confident that the open data mechanism will make it possible to fulfil the above targets.
