Sergei Naryshkin said it’s law enforcement agencies that should act

MOSCOW, July 11 (Itar-Tass) - State Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin said there are no grounds for making any amendments to law due to the situation in Pugachev, Saratov Region.

“It’s law enforcement agencies that should act. And where it necessary this is the matter of self-government bodies and Russian regions,” Naryshkin told a press conference at the Itar-Tass news agency on Thursday.

“There are no grounds for adopting any law in this aspect,” Naryshkin stressed.

The Duma speaker said Pugachev residents’ proposal to allow municipal authorities to give up registration to citizens was disputable. “Their proposal can hardly solve the problem. However, it runs counter the existing legislation. Maybe, it runs counter the Constitution that is why this proposal is rather disputable,” Naryshkin said.
