MOSCOW, July 8 (Itar-Tass) - Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for International Affairs Mikhail Margelov believes that the neo-Nazism in Estonia turned in “a daily phenomenon,” which poses a danger for whole Europe.

“The neo-Nazism in Estonia is a daily phenomenon. Meanwhile, it is supported by some part of the authorities, who have even a sincere sympathy to the Nazis, who have been the heroes in the country since 1991,” Margelov told Itar-Tass in comments on the statements of Estonian Defence Minister Urmas Reinsalu, who said the words of gratitude to former Waffen SS commandoes.

“Estonia lacks a direct article, which envisages responsibility for the propaganda of the Nazism, find the country today as the centre that issues the editions that propagate the Nazism - books, calendars, posters and etc,” Margelov stated. Meanwhile, the Russian senator recalled, “Estonia holds meetings over memorable Nazi dates, including the anniversary of the 1942 Wannsee conference, at which the fascists adopted the plan of the extermination of the Jews.”

In this respect, he noted the position of the European Union, where “the neo-Nazis in Estonia have been named as “the shortcomings of the age” and etc” already for 20 years. “However, the problem is that this ‘ontogenetic development’ can finally form in tiny ‘third Reichs” in Estonia and several countries in Eastern Europe, before Brussels will finally distract from the problems of European values on the borders of the European Union,” the head of the Federation Council committee said, noting that “there is some danger of this.”
