YAROSLAVL, July 3 (Itar-Tass) - Search has ended in the apartment of Yaroslavl Mayor Yevgeny Urlashov.

Leaving the apartment accompanied by police, the mayor showed reporters leaflets made during his election campaign for Yaroslavl mayor, Itar-Tass reports from the site. According to the mayor, he was detained exactly because of these leaflets. He also said he had taken no bribes, but he took all necessary belongings from the apartment for the case he would be arrested.

Presently the mayor is questioned by investigative authorities.

The mayor of Russia’s Volga River city of Yaroslavl and three of his subordinates are suspected of an attempt to take a bribe, the regional investigative committee reported on Wednesday.

According to the investigation, the mayor and his subordinates were exacting a bribe worth 14 million roubles from the director of a commercial agency within the period from December 2012 to July 2, 2013.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the mayor, his deputy Dmitry Donskov, the head of the mayor office’s agency for municipal orders Maxim Poikalainen and mayor’s adviser Alexei Lopatin, suspected under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 6 of Article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code (an attempt to take a bribe by a group of people by previous concert in especially big amount).
