MOSCOW, April 23 (Itar-Tass) – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will make an official visit to Moscow on April 28-30, at President Vladimir Putin's invitation, the Kremlin press service reported.

"The parties plan to discuss prospects for further development of a whole range of bilateral cooperation issues, in the first place in the trade/economic, investment, energy, humanitarian and scientific areas," the press service noted.

A substantial exchange of views on the pressing problems of the international agenda is expected, including the situation on the Korean peninsula, it said.

A number of bilateral documents will signed during the visit, aimed at boosting Russian-Japanese interaction and expanding ties in culture, education and other areas.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin stated Russia was expecting the Japanese prime minister's visit: "Hopefully, the visit will take place. We're working on giving substance to it."

The president noted that "Russian-Japanese relations develop well, but not without setbacks." Economic cooperation has been developing successfully, including in such sectors as car-making, pharmaceuticals and power engineering. "We might think about joint projects in agriculture," Putin added.
