Azerbaijan becomes most reliable partner of Serbia in East – Serbian president

“It is a good time to transform friendship between our countries into the real economic cooperation,” Tomislav Nikolic said

BAKU, February 8 (Itar-Tass) – A set of three bilateral documents was signed upon results of Friday’s talks between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Serbia. The presidents, Ilham Aliyev and Tomislav Nikolic put their signatures to the Declaration on friendly relations and strategic partnership between the two republics. According to representatives of the Serbian delegation, the document sets up the format of further cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, the interlocutors signed intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in the spheres of veterinary, and information and communication technologies.

During the meeting with his Serbian counterpart that forewent the signing of the documents, Ilham Aliyev stated, “We have brilliant possibilities for closer cooperation between our two countries in all spheres.”

“We have accumulated a good experience of interaction in the economic area. I am confident that during the visit we will make specific decisions pertaining to new projects,” the Azerbaijani president said.

He specifically pointed to the favourable conditions created for the interaction in the energy, transport and investment areas.

Tomislav Nikolic, in turn, stated that “Azerbaijan became Serbia’s most reliable partner in this part of the world.” “It is a good time to transform friendship between our countries into the real economic cooperation,” he said.

“I believe that mutual direct investments of our countries may become the placement of funds for a long term,” Nikolic said.
