MOSCOW, December 11 (Itar-Tass) —— The murder of Dagestan’s religious figure sheikh Said-Apandi Atsayev that was committed by a suicide bomber in August has been solved, a spokesman for Russia’s National Anti-terrorism Committee told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

“A number of steps to investigate the murder of sheikh Said-Apandi Chirkeisky were made by officers of the Federal Security Service and the Russian Investigations Committee. On December 8, a special operation was carried out by the Federal Security Service at the instruction of the Investigations Committee. As a result, three gunmen from the “Gimry” militant group were detained. They confessed of committing the crime. They accompanied the suicide bomber to the place of the terrorist act,” the spokesman said.
