Eight Belgorod attack victims remain in serious condition after evacuation to Moscow
According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 25 people were taken to the Russian capital for treatment
MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/. Eight of the 25 people who had to be evacuated to Moscow for treatment after the December 30, 2023 Ukrainian attack on the southwestern Russian city of Belgorod remain in serious condition, Russian Deputy Health Minister Yevgeny Kamkin said on Thursday.
"Following the terrorist attack on Belgorod, 25 people were evacuated to Moscow and admitted to federal hospitals of the Russian Health Ministry and the city of Moscow. At this point, eight people are in serious conditions, 13 are in moderately severe condition, the rest are in satisfactory condition," the Health Ministry’s press service quoted Kamkin as saying in a statement.
All patients are stable and on the road to recovery, Kamkin added. None of the patients' conditions are considered life-threatening, he added.
In all, 40 victims of the attack continue to be treated at various Russian hospitals, including 12 minors, the ministry’s press service said.
Earlier, the deputy health minister visited patients in Moscow together with Belgorod Region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov and Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova.
