Court binds Google to unblock YouTube channels of Russia’s Channel Five television
Google LLC disagreed with the court judgment and appealed against it to the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal and then to the Arbitration Court of Moscow Region
MOSCOW, January 5. /TASS/. The Moscow Arbitration court ordered Google to remove blocking from four accounts of Russian Channel Five television, according to the court decision seen by TASS.
"The court resolved to recognize as invalid the unilateral refusal of Google Limited Liability Company and Google LLC to perform terms of use by way of blocking access to channels of Joint Stock Company Petersburg for YouTube users: Channel Five Multi-blog, Channel Five live, Channel Five stream, and Channel Five. News," the document reads. The court also ruled to recover a forfeit jointly and severally from Google Limited Liability Company and Google LLC in case of failing to perform the court judgment in the amount of 100,000 rubles ($1,100) per each day of failure to perform the court decision.
Google LLC disagreed with the court judgment and appealed against it to the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal and then to the Arbitration Court of Moscow Region. Both upheld the decision made by the first court instance.
