The temperature plummeted to minus 18.5 degrees Celsius at the VDNKh base weather station
MOSCOW, January 2. /TASS/. Temperatures in Moscow dropped to this winter’s lowest last night, a leading expert at the Fobos weather service said.
"The temperature plummeted to minus 18.5 degrees Celsius (minus 1.3 Fahrenheit - TASS) at the VDNKh base weather station. This is the lowest level recorded this winter, which is six degrees below the January average," Yevgeny Tishkovets wrote on Telegram.
The lowest temperature of minus 25.1 degrees Celsius (minus 13.18 degrees Fahrenheit) was recorded in the town of Klin outside Moscow.
Tishkovets pointed out that the weather was expected to get even colder in the coming 24 hours.
