MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. The regional branch of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry in the far eastern Sakhalin Region has refuted reports of evacuations prompted by a tsunami threat.

"No evacuation is underway, it’s fake news," a spokesperson told TASS.
