Russia’s sanitary watchdog denies information about passenger with dengue fever
Russia’s sanitary watchdog recommends that in case of signs of acute respiratory illnesses passengers should immediately seek medical assistance in a hospital and not self-medicate
MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. Russia’s sanitary watchdog in Moscow has denied information that a passenger with symptoms of dengue fever arrived at Sheremetyevo airport from Sri Lanka, the department's website reported.
"With regard to the dissemination of information in the media about the arrival of a passenger with symptoms of 'highly contagious dengue fever' at Sheremetyevo airport from Sri Lanka, the Moscow sanitary watchdog informs that the above information does not correspond to reality," the report says.
The passenger did have a fever, but according to the results of an examination and laboratory tests, no dangerous infections were detected. He was diagnosed with influenza AH3N2.
