Putin to usher in new German, British envoys, plus 19 others
The presentation of credentials symbolizes the beginning of the new ambassadors’ diplomatic career in Russia
MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will accept credentials from 21 incoming ambassadors on December 4, including one each from Germany and Britain, the Kremlin press service reported.
"On December 4, 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin will accept credentials from 21 newly arrived ambassadors of foreign countries," the message reads.
Among other ambassadors, Alexander Lambsdorf (Germany) and Nigel Casey (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) will present their credentials to Putin.
In addition, diplomats from Algeria, Australia, Burundi, the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Gambia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Mali, Mauritania, Pakistan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkmenistan and Turkey will participate in the ceremony, which will take place in the Alexander Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace.
The presentation of credentials symbolizes the beginning of the new ambassadors’ diplomatic career in Russia. Such ceremonies are held regularly, with the last one taking place in April. At such events, the president usually addresses foreign diplomats and gives his take on what is going on in international affairs and bilateral relations with specific states.
