Two emergencies ministry’s Il-76 planes that will take the Russian citizens home have been waiting in Cairo since November 5
MOSCOW, November 12. /TASS/. More than 1,000 people, including 300 minors, are on the list for the evacuation from the Gaza Strip, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakhaova said on Sunday.
"More than 1,000 people have put their names on the list for evacuation. There are both Russian nationals, our compatriots and 300 minors among them," she said in an interview with the Voskresny Vecher (Sunday Evening) with Vladimir Soloviov program on the Rossiya-1 television channel.
The Russian emergencies ministry said earlier that the evacuation of Russians from the Gaza Strip has begun. The ministry’s specialists offer them medical and psychological assistance, provide with meals and drinking water. The evacuated people will be taken to Cairo, where Russian officials will help them with documents.
