Shoigu discusses military ties with Burkina Faso’s counterpart — Russian Defense Ministry

The defense ministers "discussed issues of bilateral military cooperation," it said

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has discussed military cooperation with Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs of Burkina Faso Kassoum Coulibaly, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The defense ministers "discussed issues of bilateral military cooperation," it said. They "agreed to strengthen and build up defense ties between Russia and Burkina Faso," the ministry wrote on its Telegram channel.

During the talks, Shoigu pointed out that the countries' relations, based on the principles of mutual respect and regard for each other's interests, "have seen an upward trend in the recent years." The Russian defense minister also congratulated his counterpart on having been awarded the military rank of brigadier general.
