MOSCOW, July 30. /TASS/. As many as 380 orphaned children from the Donbass republics were placed under foster care into Russian families from April to October 2022, Russian children’s rights ombudswoman Maria Lvova-Belova said in a report for 2022 that was posted on her website on Sunday.
"From April to October 2022, Russian families in 19 regions of the country fostered 380 orphaned children and children left without parents’ care from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics," the report says.
According to the report, "a care home for children in the city of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region was in direct proximity to the frontline in November 2022." "Thanks to the ombudswoman’s efforts, 52 children with disabilities were temporarily evacuated to a safe territory - to the Republic of Crimea," it says.
"Since February 2022, Russia has received about 4.8 million residents of Ukraine and the Donbass republics, including more than 700,000 children," Lvova-Belova said in the report. "Most of the children arrived with their parents or other relatives."
