"We spent less money, but the effect was no less than in Europe or the USA, and maybe even better than there," Russian President said

ST. PETERSBURG, July 30. /TASS/. Russia gave out money to combat the consequences of the pandemic in a more targeted and more accurate way than the West did. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this at a press conference on Saturday.

"Trying to overcome the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic what did they begin to do in the United States and in Western Europe? Actually, it was almost same as what we did, only on a much larger scale <...>. They began to give money in a separate industry to individual enterprises and citizens. We also did this: families with children were given certain money, those who lost their jobs were paid through various channels, small and medium-sized businesses were given money although under certain conditions. But in our case, it was all much more precise, more targeted, we spent less money, but the effect was no less than in Europe or the USA, and maybe even better than there <…>. And there they scattered the money. But where did they get it from? - Emission," Putin said.
