Exports through Taman are still not too efficient, being more expensive in terms of logistics compared with shipments from the Baltic Sea, Executive Director Oleg Makarov said

MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Sibur has started testing the shipment of 5,000-10,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) per month from the port of Taman, Member of the Management Board, Executive Director Oleg Makarov said in an interview with TASS, adding though that the direction remains logistically expensive and not too efficient.

"We consider shipments through Taman as an alternative option for redirection of supplies. We worked in this direction at some point, though we did not use it for a long time as Northwest Europe was the main target market," he said, adding that the company "considers the channel as an alternative option to supply LPG." "The shipments are complicated so far, with difficulties related to railway infrastructure existing," he said, noting that possible export shipments from Taman total 5,000-10,000 tons per month.

That said, exports through Taman are still not too efficient, being more expensive in terms of logistics compared with shipments from the Baltic Sea.
