Crimean bridge is fully open for car traffic — official
Railway part of Crimean bridge expected to be restored in July 2023, Russian Deputy Prime Minister says
MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/. The Crimean bridge is fully open to car traffic in all lanes more than a month ahead of schedule, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced on Thursday.
"All lanes of the Crimean bridge are fully open to car traffic 39 days ahead of schedule," the press service quoted Khusnullin as saying.
The restoration of the railway part of the Crimean bridge is scheduled to be finished in July 2023. "The restoration of the railway part of the bridge is underway, the completion of which is scheduled for July 2023," the press service said.
Khusnullin noted that work will continue to restore other infrastructure of the bridge, which are planned to be completed them before July 1, 2023.
The terror attack on the Crimean bridge was committed in the morning on October 8, 2022 when a truck stuffed with explosives went off, ruining two spans of the bridge’s motorway section running to Crimea and causing fire to fuel carriages of a train going to the Krasnodar region. Four people were killed.
