MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. The launch of the Progress MS-22 space freighter atop a Soyuz-2,1a carrier rocket from the Baikonur space center became Russia’s 100th consecutive successful space launch in a row, Russia’s state-run space corporation Roscosmos said.
The launch continues Russia’s record-breaking streak of successful space missions.
"From October 2018 and up to the present day, a total of 100 consecutive successful space launches of Russian carrier rockets were performed," Roscosmos said in a statement.
Out of the 100 launches, 46 were carried out from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan, 36 - from the Plesetsk space center in northwestern Russia, nine - from Vostochny in Russia’s Far East and nine - from the launch facility in French Guiana.
Of all rockets launched, 82 were from the Soyuz family, 11 - from the Proton-M family, four - from the Angara family and three - from the Rokot family.
Russia’s previous national record of 59 successful space launches in a row was registered in February 1992 - March 1993. This record was beaten in June 2021.
