GENICHESK, November 15. /TASS/. The Kinburn Spit on the Dnieper left bank in the Kherson region is controlled by Russian forces, the press service of Kherson Region governor Vladimir Saldo said on Monday.
Earlier, there were reports in public chats that a Ukrainian assault party had allegedly landed in the Kinburn Spit and established control of the area.
"The Kinburn peninsula, which is commonly known as a spit, is under the control of the Russian army. There were no enemy attempts at landing on the peninsula," the press service said.
It was reported on Sunday that a sabotage group from the Ukrainian army’s marine center of special operations had been neutralized during a landing attempt near the village of Pokrovskoye in the Kinburn Spit in the Nikolayev Region. Four vessels and up to 20 servicemen were killed.
