The authorities recommended people should refrain from traveling in the direction of the Crimean Bridge
SIMFEROPOL, October 8. /TASS/. Traffic has been suspended on the railway and road parts of the Crimean Bridge and work is underway to launch ferry service across the Kerch Strait, Crimea’s Acting Transport Minister Nikolay Lukashenko told TASS.
"Traffic has been suspended on the railway and road parts. Work is underway to possibly launch ferry service," he said, adding that the authorities recommended people should refrain from traveling in the direction of the Crimean Bridge.
False occupancy was detected on the railway part of the Crimean Bridge across the Kerch Strait at 06:05 am local time. A fuel tank caught fire at the tail of a freight train. Its locomotive and some of the cars were taken to Kerch Railway Station. Emergency work is underway, as well as efforts to establish the cause of the incident.
