"There are seven extra ships in the Baltic Sea. We have worked it out with some companies which I will not name yet," Anton Alikhanov said

MOSCOW, June 18. /TASS/. New ships may start services along the Ust-Luga - Baltiysk ferry line within five to seven days following Lithuania’s ban on the rail transit of some goods through its territory, Governor of Russia’s Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov said on Saturday.

"We alongside the [Russian] Transport Ministry have redeployed another dry cargo ship, which runs along the Ust-Luga - Baltiysk line, from other seas in order to redistribute the goods which transit is banned by Lithuanians. We may need additional vessels," he said in a video address on his Telegram channel.

"There are seven extra ships in the Baltic Sea. We have worked it out with some companies which I will not name yet," Alikhanov said. "We are holding a meeting with them on Monday, and within a week or five days they will be ready to give us terms and put them on the line," he said.
