Criminal case opened after 24 freight train cars derailed in Krasnoyarsk region
An investigating team is working on the scene
MOSCOW, June 11. /TASS/. /TASS/. Twenty-four cars filled with timber and lead concentrate derailed in the Krasnoyarsk region on Saturday and some of them overturned, so a criminal case has been opened to look into the incident, the Russian Investigative Committee’s interregional transport investigative department told reporters.
"Twenty-four cars loaded with logs and lead concentrate derailed in the evening when a freight train was running not far from the [train] station Surikovo in the Biriliuski district of Krasnoyarsk region. As a result of the accident, some cars carrying timber overturned; the cars filled with lead concentrate were prevented from overturning. No one was injured," the statement says.
A criminal case was opened into the incident. An investigating team is working on the scene.
