Russia says it destroyed 977 Ukrainian drones, 3,198 armored vehicles during operation
MOSCOW, May 22 /TASS/. Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday Russia’s armed forces have destroyed 174 Ukrainian planes, 977 drones, 3,198 tanks and armored vehicles and 408 multiple launch rocket systems since the start of the special military operation.
"In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the following targets have been destroyed: 174 aircraft and 125 helicopters, 977 unmanned aerial vehicles, 317 air defense systems, 3,198 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 408 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,622 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 3,077 special military vehicles," he said.
Konashenkov said Russian high-precision air-launched missiles destroyed three command posts, 13 clusters of Ukrainian troops and equipment and four ammunition depots in the DPR and LPR over the past day.
"High-precision air-launched missiles three command posts, 13 clusters of Ukrainian troops and equipment and four ammunition depots in the areas of the soledar and Sol of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Nyrkovo of the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past day," he said.
Also, the Russian air force struck three Ukrainian command posts and an ammunition depot over the past day.
"Operational-tactical and army aviation hit three command posts, 26 clusters of troops and military equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces and destroyed an ammunition depot in the area of the Krasny Liman settlement," he said.
Air force strikes destroyed a total of more than 210 nationalists, incapacitated 38 units of Ukrainian military equipment, Konashenkov said.
According to the ministry, Russia’s armed forces have destroyed 174 aircraft and 125 helicopters, 977 unmanned aerial vehicles, 317 air defense systems, 3,198 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 408 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,622 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 3,077 special military vehicles since the start of the special military operation.
Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman said Russian air defenses destroyed 11 Ukrainian drones and intercepted two projectiles fired by a Ukrainian MLRS during the past day of the special military operation.
"Russian air defenses shot down 11 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Kurakhovo and Guselskoye of the Donetsk People's Republic; Popasnaya of the Lugansk People's Republic; Chernobyaevka of the Kherson Region, Russkaya Lozovaya, Kazachya Lopan, Nizsheye, Malaya Kamyshevakha and Petrovskoye of the Kharkov Region over the past day," he said.
Konashenkov said also two Ukrainian projectiles fired by the Smerch MLRS were intercepted.
In addition, Russia’s rocket and artillery forces struck about 700 Ukrainian military targets over the past day of the special operation.
"The rocket forces and artillery struck 583 clusters of enemy troops and military equipment, 41 command posts, 76 artillery and mortar units in firing positions, including three batteries of Grad multiple launch rocket systems, as well as the Ukrainian electronic warfare station Bukovel near the village of Annovka of the Nikolayev Region," he said.
