High terrorist threat level to be declared in Russia’s Kursk region on April 11
The region’s governor, Roman Starovoit called on resident to be vigilant and report about unattended objects and suspicious people
MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. A high terrorist threat level will be declared in Russia’s southern Kursk region from April 11 over possible provocations by Ukrainian nationalists, the region’s governor, Roman Starovoit, said on Sunday.
"Over possible provocations by Ukrainian nationalists, a yellow terrorist threat level will be imposed in the Kursk region from April 11," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
He called on resident to be vigilant and report about unattended objects and suspicious people.
According to earlier reports, a border checkpoint near the village of Yelizavetovka in the Kursk region came under mortar shelling from the Ukrainian side on April 9. No one was hurt. No damages were reported.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in response to a request for help by the heads of the Donbass republics. He stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories, but aimed to demilitarize and denazify the country.
When clarifying the unfolding developments, the Russian Defense Ministry reassured that Russian troops are not targeting Ukrainian cities, but are limited to surgically striking and incapacitating Ukrainian military infrastructure.
