Russian military wipes out fuel base in Ukraine with Onyx missile strike - top brass
Russia’s aviation hit 117 Ukrainian military facilities, including S-300 over the past day
MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The Russian Armed Forces destroyed a fuel base in Ukraine’s Nikolaev region used to supply a grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with fuel, using a high-precision Onyx cruise missile, official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov announced on Saturday.
"The Onyx high-precision cruise missile destroyed a fuel base in the Nikolaev region, used to supply a grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern part of Ukraine with fuel," he said.
Russia’s Aerospace Forces hit 117 Ukrainian military facilities over the past day, including one S-300 missile system, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday.
"Over the past day, the tactical and army aviation disabled 117 Ukrainian military facilities, among them six command posts, three multiple-launch rocket systems, one S-300 missile system, nine warehouses with weapons and ammunition and two others with fuel and lubricants, as well as 92 strongholds of the Ukrainian forces’ units, nationalist battalions and a military equipment concentration area," Konashenkov said.
The Russian military’s sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles destroyed a warehouse with weapons in the Zhitomir region of Ukraine, Konashenkov announced.
"On March 25, Kalibr high-precision sea-based cruise missiles destroyed a warehouse with ammunition and weapons near the village of Velikiye Korovintsi, Zhitomir region," Konashenkov said.
Russian air defense systems shot down three Ukrainian aircraft, six unmanned aerial vehicles, and one tactical missile of the Tochka-U complex, Konashenkov announced.
"Russian air defense systems shot down three Ukrainian aircraft (two Sukhoi Su-25 and one Sukhoi Su-24), as well as six unmanned aerial vehicles in the air over the village of Vishnyovoe. In addition, one tactical missile of the Tochka-U complex was destroyed near the village of Vasilievka," he said.
Konashenkov added that the Russian military’s sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles destroyed a warehouse with weapons in the Zhitomir region of Ukraine. The Russian Armed Forces have also destroyed a fuel base in Ukraine’s Nikolaev region used to supply a grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with fuel, using a high-precision Onyx cruise missile, Konashenkov said. Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation in order to protect people "who have been suffering from abuse and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories, noting that the operation was aimed at the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
