Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rises by 14,185

It is a new low since October 15

MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Russia confirmed 14,185 coronavirus cases over the past day, a new low since October 15, and the total case tally hit 4,071,883, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday.

In relative terms, the growth rate reached 0.35%.

The lowest growth rates were registered in the past day in the Tuva Republic (0.03%), the Magadan Region, the Republic of Khakassia, the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Chechen Republic (0.1%).

Moscow confirmed 1,559 new COVID-19 cases in the past day. Some 1,099 coronavirus cases were recorded in St. Petersburg, 828 in the Moscow Region, 434 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 354 in the Voronezh Region and 339 in the Rostov Region.

Currently, 398,656 people are ill in Russia.

Recoveries and deaths

Some 15,194 coronavirus patients recovered in Russia over the past day and the total number of recoveries reached 3,593,101.

According to the crisis center, the total share of recoveries remained at 88.2% of all those infected.

Some 1,545 patients were discharged from hospitals in St. Petersburg, 802 in the Moscow Region, 475 in the Chelyabinsk Region, 437 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and 354 in the Irkutsk Region.

Russia’s coronavirus deaths rose by 430 in the past day versus 502 a day earlier, and the total death toll reached 80,126 patients.

The average mortality rate rose to 1.97%, according to the crisis center.

Moscow confirmed 58 COVID-19 deaths over the past day. Some 55 deaths were registered in St. Petersburg, 29 in the Moscow Region, 21 in the Voronezh Region, 17 in the Krasnodar Region and 16 in the Krasnoyarsk Region.
