Lavrov slams London’s refusal to provide access to Yulia Skripal as outrageous move
Moscow is interested "more than anyone else"in establishing the truth about the Skripal poisoning case
MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Moscow calls the United Kingdom’s refusal to provide consular access to Russian citizen Yulia Skripal an outrageous move, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday.
"I consider this is outrageous that so far our multiple requests demanding access to our citizens have been rejected or have remained unanswered," Lavrov said.
Lavrov also hopes that Sergei Skripal will make it up from coma and nothing bad will happen to him.
"I do hope that Sergei Skripal will follow suit [his daughter Yulia came around earlier]. It looks like he and his daughter were affected to approximately the same degree in the incident that occurred," Lavrov told a news conference on Monday.
"I want to reiterate that Russia has no relation to the Skripals’ poisoning, but we are very interested - probably more than anyone else - in establishing the truth about our citizens’ fate," the Russian top diplomat added.
